Greetings Missions and Complexes Forum,
Right after I completed my SoE Epic Arc and decided to go solo in my own corporation, I found a direct to highsec wormhole in Aridia. Seeing how remote it was and how pretty the nebulae looked I took the opportunity and moved all of my assets there.
Anyway being just over a month into Eve I've noticed that the 50+ Blood Hideaways I've run have yet to escalate to a 1/10.
https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Blood_Hideaway
It states that it's expected to escalate. Also I find these hideaways reliably in all the 0.4 Aridia(n) systems as well.
My question is does anyone know if the Blood Hideaway actually escalates or is the wiki wrong?
I'm new to the game and I see that anyone can edit evelopedia; think I should? (I'd make graphs to detail my obervations like what % of hideaways yield Dark Blood rats and escalate)

Interesting, and that's too bad Evelopedia is considered out of date.. it's the first place I go to for most of everything.
I'm kind of interested in helping maintain it and keeping it relevant though.
Haven't run any Sansha sites yet myself but it was a Serpentis Refuge I think .. my first one led to a Serpentis 3/10 and a friend help me run it and dropped over 100m in loot! Hooked ever since.
What's a good measure you think .. to decide whether something escalates or not? I'm gonna try running 50 more and tallying what I get for some more concrete #'s. The Blood 3/10's are a bit too hard for me to do alone so I hope these Blood Hideaways actually escalate.. because probing is such a grind sometimes.

Cool. I got a pretty serious looking legal pad next to me with some tally marks. Ran 5 of them today. I'll get back to you here with the information I'm also noting what's dropping if the Dark Blood rat appears.

Amarr space. You'll find much less competition there than Minmatar and certainly Caldari space.
I know, i live in amarr. Amarr system with it's 6 golden gates is my home. I'm on exploration mission, updating evelopedia, making some ISK on the way The only one left in amarr to check if escalate is hideaway. I gave up on burrows, they are as rare as dens for me.
Dens literally everywhere in Aridia. If you wanna come check the area out I'll let you know when a favorable wormhole opens up.

Yo!
So my experiment is over. I run 50 Blood Hideaways, keeping tallies for how many Dark Blood rats appear and how many escalations I got.
So, out of 50, I got 3 Dark Blood Frigates to appear, and 0 escalations.
I would like to amend the evelopedia article to read that it doesn't escalate. Also the security in which these appear is erroneous too, I've seen them in 0.2 space.
Dark Blood Rats from Blood Hideaways drop random Blood Faction Ammo S, Dark Blood Copper Tag, and various meta modules like webs and small smartbombs. During this experiment I got a Mid Grade Talisman implant. BPC's like Target Spectrum can drop as well. (like the junk BPC's you get from Data sites)

And simply because you have not had any luck doesnt mean that everyone has had no luck.
It's actually close to 100. Just started tallying them 50 ago. I think it's more than bad luck. I can get 3/10 and 4/10 just fine

I can get 3/10 and 4/10 just fine It matters not, the odds do not play favorites. At one point I scanned and ran 4-6 sites a day, every day for 3 months straight in Gallente space and not once did I get an escalation or an officer spawn. On the other hand my son was doing the same thing in Minmatar space and he averaged one site per day that escalated. So while you are compiling statistics be sure to include these as well. As you can see your 50 or even 100 sites is an insufficient data set to allow for any meaningful conclusions so I would say for now leave the Wki page alone, or at most add your information as a foot note.
But look at how it's worded:
Quote:It is suspected that this anomaly may rarely escalate to a Old Meanie - Cultivation Center, DED rating 1/10.
"suspected"
The author didn't know for sure! If you guys want to run them with me, post results and prove it? My findings are exclusively in Aridia. btw I had some freak luck, got 2 Dark Bloods in a row and one of them yielded a Mid Grade Talisman Alpha.
Which btw they don't state in the loot column!
A footnote would be better than what's there now. Who's qualified to make such changes?
